I thought I’d look for advice this week on two items in my closet that I have been wanting to wear but not quite sure how to pull them off.
The first is a skirt I got from Urban Outfitters. It’s white with adorable pleats and it’s knee length. I have no idea what to do for a top or how dressy to do shoes.
The second is a dress I loved from Cream Vintage that I had altered shorter to knee length and short sleeves. Those guys are great at alterations! I’m stuck with accessories on this dress (does it need any?) and what kind of shoes to wear.
Let me know what you think in the comments! I’ll be sure to post when I wear these items with your suggestions, so feel free to control my (fashion) life!

Red checkered dress: Simpler is better. Probably some white or blue chunky faux pearl necklace and a bangle style bracelet. Also I’m thinking some of those Italian style boot shoes that come up the ankle just a bit. also these: http://bit.ly/a4VPvJ
As for the white skirt, I would go with some sort of striped monochromatic shirt. Preferably one with a fade from darker lower to lighter higher. Knee high socks with some vintage oxford shoes. Accessorize with metals: Bracelets, necklace, earrings.
Ooo great ideas, I got nothing but can’t wait to see these outfits so I can use them for ideas later.
PS Blue angels, blue angels, blue angles!!!
Whenever I wear a dress, Bailey tells me she’d like to see me add a belt, so I’m going to suggest a belt with the dress. With the skirt, I might just try a black or navy tank, some chunky jewelry, and sandals or wedge heels. But, I’ll be the first to admit I don’t have great fashion sense!!!
My new profession has me dreaming of autumn so these suggestions are more Oct/Nov appropriate. I’m also trying to imagine what you’d be comfortable (personality-wise) in.
My first thought is of tights/leggings + ballet flats. Black should be sufficient but if you have grey or navy, that’d work, too! I’m thinking a cami and slinky sweater for the skirt and nothing more than a chunky bracelet/watch for the dress.
If you’ve got ‘em … Docs would go lovely with either of these ensembles FTR.
